AUGUST 28TH - SEPTEMBER 1st 2023

Intreeweek 2023 will consist of a bunch of exciting events, during which you will get to know each other, the city of Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam! We’ll kick off the week at the Roeterseilandcampus with the Registration, where you will meet your group, and we’ll end the week with the spectacular Closing Party! Get to know all the student, study and sports associations, the cultural sector and all the hotspots of Amsterdam during the week! Check the full programme below
Register for intreeweek 2023
If you have registered and have been admitted to a bachelor programme at the UvA, you will receive an email early on it the summer with a registration link. Stay tuned for more info!
Monday AUGUST 28th
The Registration will take place at the Roeterseilandcampus, one of the most central locations of the UvA. The Registration is the first moment of the week, during which you will meet your group and your mentors! With these people, you will experience the rest of the week.
During Intree Connects, you will get to know your group and Amsterdam through your first lunch together in Oosterpark and a walk through the city.
The official Opening of Intreeweek 2023 will be held in the Royal Theatre Carré. In this beautiful theatre, various people will welcome you to Amsterdam, the university, and, of course, Intreeweek!
At Intree United, all kinds of associations from Amsterdam will come together in the NDSM in Amsterdam-Noord. This industrial venue is the perfect place for you to get in contact with student and sports associations. The associations will inform you and they will organise various acitivities for you to get to know them! This way, you will find out whether an association is something for you, and if so, which one!
TUESDAY AUGUST 29th
Wander through the famous paintings at Rijksmuseum or Stedelijk Museum, located on the well-known Museum Square!
Enjoy a fun sporty afternoon at Intree Games! At the USC at Science Park, various sports associations will be present to introduce you to their association.
Enjoying a dinner on your future campus, along with thousands of other students? This is your chance! This evening of Intreeweek, the Roeterseilandcampus will transform to the perfect location for a foodtruck festivity. Have dinner with your new friends and enjoy the sun!
As a fresh student in Amsterdam, you’ll have to know where to go if you wanna dance the night away! Therefore, we’re organizing a Pub Crawl around the famous Rembrandtplein on the tuesday night. Multiple pubs will open their doors for the new students of the UvA!
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 30th
At the Student Fair, you’ll get to know a lot of parties that will boost your student life! You will learn about all kinds of things the UvA has to offer, such as: exchanges, sustainability and sports. Also, there will be various businesses that would be great to help kick-start your career. Wander through the fair in the precious Beurs van Berlage building!
Symposium is the event where guest speakers will come to talk about different matters which are relevant for the starting student. Think about health, inclusiveness, sustainability or student life in general.
Show Night offers a diverse programme of comedy/music/entertainment on various beautiful locations, namely DeLaMar Theatre, De Balie and Boom Chicago! There’s something for everyone: a night full of entertainment is guaranteed.
Finish your wednesday night with a smashing party! The music will build up during the night and it’s the perfect opportunity to party with your group!
THURSDAY AUGUST 31st
Get to know the cultural sector of Amsterdam, feel the luxury of the royal seats and experience the magical atmosphere of the Concertgebouw.
During Quest in the Quarters, you’ll have the chance to explore a couple of neighbourhoods in Amsterdam a little bit better, namely: Vondel and De Pijp! Through certain exercises and assignments, you will come by various highlights of these popular quarters of Amsterdam.
This event is our own version of the well-known Museumnacht: multiple museums will open their doors after closing time, especially for Intreeweek, to welcome the brand new students of the UvA and to introduce them to their collections! A small tip: it is possible to visit more than one museum, so get on your bike and visit them all!
We invite you to join Intree’s unique Cinema Night! On this night, Pathé de Munt will be opened for the participants of Intreeweek only! We’ve made a selection of movies from different genres, that you must have seen at least once!
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1st
What’s a better way to wake up than by dancing, making stuff with clay or by warming up your voice? You can choose between various workshops, spread over multiple rounds. Through the Wake up Workshops, you can get to know everything about the workshops that CREA has to offer. CREA is the cultural student centre of the University of Amsterdam. Follow a dance or acting course, or learn to draw and write; it’s all possible at CREA!
The final day of Intreeweek will, of course, be ended with a bang. Therefore, Intree Festival will take place in the afternoon, this year at Arena Park! This location next to the Johan Cruijff Arena will make way for an enormous festival site upcoming summer, where you can enjoy some music and all kinds of activities. Also, you can pick up your dinner here and on top of that, there will be various food trucks present for a tasty day!
After a week full of activities, meeting new people and having fun, we will end the week with the spectacular Closing Party! At three famous clubs in Amsterdam, you can party for the last time this week! We will show you what the nightlife of Amsterdam has to offer.
