Recall those initial days at UvA: stepping into the unknown, meeting new faces, and discovering unfamiliar places. Wouldn't it be wonderful to enhance this experience for others?

You can do so by signing up to become a mentor during Intreeweek 2024, from August 26th to August 30th! Mentors play a vital role in Intreeweek, ensuring that participants get the most out of this exciting experience. Embark on a journey where you'll guide a group of first-year students through their first moments at UvA.

Your role

Being a mentor isn't just about leading; it's about shouldering responsibility. You'll be entrusted with ensuring each member of your group has a seamless transition into university life. From answering their questions to fostering a sense of belonging, your role is vital in shaping their UvA adventure.

Read before signing up as mentor!
If you want to become a mentor, it is mandatory that:

1. You are available from August 26th to August 31st, covering the entirety of Intreeweek.

2. You attend one of two mentor instruction days (August 20th or August 23rd), where you:

  • Meet the organizers of Intreeweek.
  • Receive training on handling drug and alcohol-related situations.
  • Receive training in social security to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
  • Gain comprehensive insights into the scheduled events and your expected role throughout the week.

  • While we strive to accommodate all applicants, please note that becoming a mentor is not guaranteed if we have more registrations than needed.
  • We aim to match mentors and participants from the same bachelor program whenever possible. However, in cases where there is a shortage of mentors in specific studies, you may be paired with participants from another bachelor program.
  • You cannot be a mentor/crew member and a participant at the same time.
